I do use the term "adventures" loosely right now, but here is my blog-worthy bullet-list of my Colorado
escapades thus far:
- Met one of my all-time best friends for a scrumptious brunch at this awesome vegetarian restaurant called WaterCourse Foods. We've been hundreds of miles apart in Houston vs. Seattle but both happened to be in CO this weekend. Hooray!
- Met another dear friend from CSU in Denver that day, who I hadn't seen in ages, but we got to catch up while pedaling one of THESE (see below) around Washington Park. It was quite hilarious and spectacular! Apparently that thing is called a Single Surrey.
- Baked a FANTASTIC Kahlua cake with my wonderful mamasita. One of my all-time favorite desserts. YUM!!! Enjoyed another slice of that decadence tonight. Happiness on a plate . . .and in my tummy.
- Lots of leisurely strolls around the neighborhood with the parental unit. Good for catching up, discussion, and disagreement. =) Plenty of leisurely meals with them afford the same.
- Checked out a 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport gym and was Super impressed! =) Tried a cycling class and they came around with a water pitcher and re-filled water bottles mid-class! WHAT?! Yes, yes they did. The whole place was super clean and pristine. Still felt brand new although apparently it's 2 years old. Tons of machines - all that I tried were in great condition and they even had TRX out on A-Frames for anyone to use anytime. Best part: Windows EVERYWHERE (windows as in, the kind that let light into a building, not the program on a computer). =) I loved it so much I spent 3.5 hours there! Ah, the joys of this sabbatical!
